Psalm 27

Of David.

1 The LORD is my light and my salvation—
       whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?

Song:  Not Afraid

I’m not afraid anymore cause when I opened the door

You’re love came shining through

I’m not afraid anymore cause when I opened the door

You’re love came shining through

I used to be afraid of spiders and snakes.

I used to want to hide when I made mistakes

But then something happened way down in my heart

The Lord called Donna, time to make a new start.

What else was I afraid of:

What ifs –

What if I fail, I fall, I lose, I win

But the truth is that God will never leave or forsake us.  He is there when we don’t feel like we can take another step.

This is what I heard in my anxious moments

Song: I am with You

I’ll always be there

I want to share

When you are weak

That’s when I’ll speak

I’ll always be there

When life’s not fair

When doubts arise

Just look in my eyes

I’ll always be there

When life seems so cold

Reach out for me

I’ll set you free

I’ll always be there

I know who you are

When you feel small

I hear your call

I’ll always be there

Just whisper my name

There’s no more shame

“I am” with you.

Psalm 89:15
Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, O LORD.

Isaiah 42:16
I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.

How will he make the rough places smooth?

It is possible that we will have a new attitude and joy in the midst of our trials.  Imagine having your village burned to the ground and unimaginable atrocities committed against you and your loved ones.  If you are still able to stand and rejoice in the ashes and trust that God will bring good out of that situation then you have found the treasure of the gospel.  We have so much to learn from each other.

When are we blind?

When we are busy saving the world and ignoring the world in front of us.  At one time I was trying to run a business called

“ Harmony 4 Life” only to realize my home life felt like it was in ruins.  What an irony!

Passage Matthew 4:16:

    16the people living in darkness
      have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of the shadow of death
      a light has dawned."

What is our shadow of death?

Illness and chronic pain

Depression and other mental disorders

Craving significance

Addictions to our own fulfillment

Entertainment and Comfort

Wanting our own way

Working with children and trying to give them a great start we learn things and teach things that we forget so soon.

A good question to ask is:

Do you want to be right or have a relationship?  Children argue over seemingly silly things like is the dog in the story a boy or a girl.

Here is a list of how to treat a friend that I for one need to remember and learn how to implement as an adult.

25 Things That Friends Don’t Do

1. Hit each other

2. Kick each other ( unless they are doing Marshall Arts)

3. Scratch each other

4. Bite each other

5. Pull each other’s hair

6. Spit at each other

7. Pinch each other

8. Push each other

9. Yell at each other ( We all need work on this one!)

10. Bully each other

11. Boss each other ( Even when you are the boss or parent)

12. Break each other’s things ( Thank goodness for forgiveness)

13. Throw temper tantrums

14. Call each other names ( Nations could work on this one)

15. Say mean things ( Even in government!)

16. Use bad language (Where’s the soap?)

17. Lie to each other

18. Cheat

19. Threaten each other

20. Tease each other

21. Criticize each other

22. Take out their anger, frustration, or fear on each other

23. Gang up on each other

24. Exclude other friends

25. Try to get their way all the time.

Passage 2 Corinthians 4:6:
6For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

How can light shine out of darkness? Here is a poem called

The Meaning of Prayer

A breath of prayer in the morning

Means a day of blessing sure -

A breath of Prayer in the evening

Means a night of rest secure.

A breath of prayer in our weakness

Means the clasp of a mighty hand -

A breath of prayer when we’re lonely

Means someone to understand.

A breath of prayer in rejoicing

Gives joy and added delight

For they that remember God’s goodness

Go singing far into the night.

There’s never a year nor a season

That prayer may not bless every hour

And never a soul need be helpless

When linked with God’s great power.

What is the knowledge of the Glory of God in the face of Christ?

Song:  Salt and Light

We are the salt of the earth and the light of the world

So don’t be afraid if anything’s hurled at you

We are the branch and he is De Vine

Give me new eyes, let your will be mine

It’s a new birth and life will be fine

When Jesus starts to live through me

It’s gonna set me free

To shine, shine in the dark.

To find Jesus in lonely faces

To search, search for a way

To love, love, everyday.

Part of the pain we can never explain

Was it Adam and Eve or Abel and Cain

We’re never quite sure what happened back then

But we gotta live our life right now and

We gotta ask God to show us how

To shine, shine in the dark

To find Jesus in lonely faces

To search, search for a way

To love, love every day.

Prayer

Father thank you so much for changing my life, for taking me from darkness to light, from despair to hope, from death to life.  Thank you that you are continuing to conform me to the image of your Son. Now I want to reflect your glory and your beauty.  Lord, help me to point others to your transforming love today.

Sometimes when I have listened and taken time to sit at Jesus feet I sense God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, my team are beaming with delight.  I am enfolded

Enfolded

Enfolded in your wings

Safe to share

All we dare

You care so much

Enfolded in your touch

Earth starts to blossom

As a tear falls

Breaking down walls

Enfolded in your song

Where we all belong

Walking hand in hand

Healing the land

Just as you planned from

The beginning of time…

God loves us so much and he wants us to sing a new song!

I’ve got a New Song

I’ve got a new song in my heart

Cause Jesus you gave me a brand new start

I’ve got a new song in my heart

That keeps me singing all day

My Lord you are the reason

I’m enjoying every season

Whether it’s sunny or storms abound

There’s nothing in this world that can take away this joy or disturb the peace I’ve found

I’ve got a new light in my soul

Cause Jesus you have made me whole

I’ve got a new light in my soul

That keeps me shining all day

My Lord you are the reason

I’m enjoying every season

Whether it’s sunny or storms abound

There’s nothing in this world that can take away the joy or disturb the peace I’ve found.

If you would like prayer for any part of your journey please email me and I would love to introduce you to my team God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Actually all you need to do is ask to be enfolded in their love and I guarantee they will make a difference in your journey.
